Perhaps it is self evident that corporate Amerika will condescend to save no one but their shareholders, and probably not even them.

Remember the scene in Grapes of Wrath where piles of perfectly good agribusiness fruit are rotting behind heavily guarded fences while on the other side people starve? Business is business. We do not have to look back to Steinbeck to remind us of the brutality of our system. Nothing has fundamentally changed since the Dust Bowl and Depression. Sometimes the message is so obvious that even our filtered media cannot stop it.

What we have here is a mild dress rehearsal for our inevitable future.
